Dental access is a critical need for refugees arriving in the United States. It's a pressing issue that requires a collective effort to ensure that refugees can access essential dental services without barriers like cost or insurance limitations.
Our mission is to to connect refugees in the Massachusetts area with dentists who will provide free dental care, through Medicaid. Our aim is to make dental care more accessible to refugees throughout Eastern Massachusetts.
What We Do
At Smiles for Refugees, we bridge the gap in dental care for refugees in Massachusetts. We've created a platform connecting refugees with dentists who accept Medicaid (MassHealth), ensuring access to essential dental services. Because with all the struggles that Refugees have coming to the United States, we did not want dental care to be one of them.
About Us
My name is Zhain Alkhoury and welcome to Smiles for Refugees. This is a platform dedicated to helping refugees find Medicaid-accepting dentists near them. Our mission is rooted in a deeply personal journey—one that began when my father, an orthodontist and a immigrant from Syria, arrived in the United States in 1992. Inspired by my father’s journey, I decided to take action by advocating for and spreading awareness about how refugees can access free dental care through Medicaid in the Massachusetts area.

Simply press Ctrl + F (Windows) or Command + F (Mac) to open the search bar, type in your zip code, and find providers that accept Medicaid. If no results appear for your specific zip code, try searching nearby areas. Each provider is listed by location, phone number, and specialty.
